If you needed any more evidence of the i30 Hatch N’s racing roots, then you need look no further than the sports exhaust. The twin-outlet active exhaust has three settings, allowing the driver to select the ideal level of exhaust sound for the conditions – keep it subdued around town or allow the engine’s full vocal range to be enjoyed when the open road beckons. In Sports+, the throttle lifts and downshifts to bring a thrilling volley of rasping crackles and pops that have to be heard to be appreciated.

The aggressive front bumper features large air intakes and incorporates functional brake ducts to channel cooling air to the red brake callipers.

Performance brakes

The increased front brake discs measuring 360mm are clamped by distinctive red N brake caliper, providing strong and fade-resistance stopping power.

An interior unlike any other

Inspired by its motorsport roots, the interior features the exclusive N logo and the sports steering wheel with the N-mode button, allowing access to five custom drive modes. Leather-appointed^[P4] sports seats, signature Performance Blue stitching, and an illuminated N logo on the integrated headrests are also included.

Lane Following Assist (LFA)

Lane Following Assist (LFA) uses the front windshield mounted camera to detect lane markers and preceding traffic on the road, and provides steering assistance to ensure the vehicle stays in the centre of the lane.

High performance brake package

Big is most certainly better, we’ve increased the front brake discs to measure 360mm for ultimate fade-resistance stopping power. Clamped by the distinctive red N brake callipers, safety meets exhilaration.

Ride & handling

To deliver optimum ride and handling regardless of road surface, the i30 Hatch N is fitted with Electronically Controlled Suspension (ECS). A lower, firmer suspension tune combined with electronically controlled dampers that continuously adjust damping force (based on road conditions, vehicle speed and driver inputs) means the i30 Hatch N delivers exceptional turn-in characteristics and body control, without sacrificing the ride compliance needed for daily driving comfort.

Corner-carving brilliance

The electronically controlled mechanical limited slip differential (E-LSD) uses a hydraulically actuated clutch pack to distribute torque intelligently between the two front wheels depending on throttle inputs, steering angle, and cornering force. This technology reduces wheelspin and understeer while increasing traction and cornering speed, allowing the driver to extract maximum performance from the i30 Hatch N.

N Grin Mode System

Just like in a video game, the i30 Hatch N allows you to switch driving mode at the touch of a button. Choose from five individual drive modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, N or N Custom settings to perfectly match the road or driving conditions. In Custom mode you decide the drive, saving your specs for engine mapping, damper character, steering feedback, E-LSD characteristics, stability control and exhaust sound level. It’s your drive with your specific settings.

Active variable exhaust system

So how does it sound? The i30 Hatch N’s Active variable exhaust system is a twin-outlet installation featuring three settings, allowing the driver to select the ideal level of exhaust sound for the conditions – keep it subdued around town, or allow the engine’s full vocal range to be enjoyed when the open road beckons. In its most sporting setting, throttle lifts and downshifts bring a thrilling volley of rasping crackles and pops that must be heard to be appreciated.

Automatic rev matching

Available on manual variants, drive like a pro with automatic rev-matching, a function that automatically blips the throttle on downshifts, replicating the ‘heel and toe’ technique used by racing drivers to deliver smooth downshifts where revs and road-speed are perfectly synchronised.

Engine performance

For more thrills on the road, the i30 N’s powerful 2.0-litre turbocharged engine has been reworked with an all-new turbocharger and intercooler setup – now delivering 206kW and 392 Nm. The 206kW engine offers flat power, providing even more torque and power for exhilarating performance.

Torque

The i30 N keeps maximum torque between 2,100 and 4,700 RPM, and achieves maximum power at 6,000 RPM. The increased low end torque improves every day driving, while the increased power at the top end provides an exhilarating spirited drive. Flat power tuning delivers improved thrust at all engine speeds which improves driving in different conditions.
